General, Mark Daniel
Mark Daniel General was born on March 20, 1970 in Buffalo, New York and passed away on March 11, 2024 after a short battle with cancer in Dickson, Tennessee. He was 53 years old.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother Linda May General. His beloved wife Lori Ann Green General. Son Eric Henry. Sister Marilee (Chris) Dodson. Step Daughters Amber Jenson and Brandy Reynolds. Grandchildren Raina, Joshua, Crystal, Jasmine, and Analise. Niece Gloriana Dodson. Nephew Wyatt Dodson. Along with many other relatives, friends, and loved ones.
Mark was a jack of all trades. After high school he graduated from Vocational School and started working in HVAC. He was able to do electrical and plumbing work as well. Later in life he worked at a meat processor. He was simply the best at his job and could skin a deer in under 5 minutes.
He and Lori were childhood friends who after going their separate ways in life found each other again and were married for 5 years after dating for several years prior. Mark got down on one knee and asked Lori if she would like to have his last name while she was washing dishes, to which she simply responded “Ok!” and the rest is history.
Mark was proud of his Native American heritage. He lived on the Six Nations of the Grand River Reservation until he was eight years old. There he learned lessons that he carried with him through his entire life. He especially remembers learning from his “Paw-Paw” many Native American traditions. Mark could speak the Iroquois language, and fondly remembered growing up surrounded by the culture he loved.
He loved the outdoors and spent as much time as he could in nature. He and Lori took daily trips down to the creek. One summer they even had some pet crawfish and a pet fish that would allow him to pet them before he fed them some bread crumbs. He simply had a way with nature. This showed through his ability to train horses. He could take the wildest horse and turn it into a gentle pony. He also enjoyed making traditional Native American jewelry, crafting walking sticks and having barbecues.
Mark had a smile that lit up the world and a magnetism about him that drew people in. He will be remembered for his friendship, honesty and caring nature. He loved his family, and at times could be protective, but always showed special concern for his Mom and Sister. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
