Christine Wildridge Garrison of Hohenwald, TN passed away on Monday, 28 October 2019 at the Lewis County Nursing & Rehab Center at the age of 98. She was born in Humphreys County, TN to the late Walter Wildridge and Rhoda Sparks. She was married to the late Cleave Garrison.
During WWII, Mrs. Garrison was a “Rosie the Riveter” working on B19 & B17 Bombers, cutting the tail sections for the “Flying Fortresses. She also worked for Ford Motor Co in MI, leaving Ford Motor Company she worked for the Siegel’s Factory in Hohenwald, TN where she would eventually retire. She loved being outdoors, she especially enjoyed camping and gardening. Her family described her as not only a mother but a friend.
Survivors include, sons, Kenneth (Joyce) Garrison of Linden, TN and Ronald (Barbara) Garrison of Hohenwald, TN; daughter, Margaret (Buddy) White of Decatur, TN; sister-in-law, Marcie Wildridge; nine grandchildren, Randall Stewart, Alan Stewart, Melinda Johnson, Sharon Bastin, Brent Garrison, Rob White, Misty Brewer, Ginger Montgomery and Joey White; 15 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by brothers, Leon Wildridge, JW Wildridge and WH Wildridge, half-sister, Beth Carroll Shanes, great-granddaughter, Macy Bastin, and grandson-in-law, Madison Brewer.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, 29 October 2019 at 3:00 PM in the McDonald Funeral Home – Lewis County Chapel with Bobby Carroll officiating. Burial will follow in the Downey Cemetery, Hohenwald, TN. Visitation with the family will be held on 29 October 2019 from 11:00 AM until service time at 3:00 PM.
