Garner, William Edgar
William Edgar “Billy” Garner was born on September 9, 1928, in Coble, Tennessee to the late Carl and Lucille O’Guin Garner. He entered eternal rest on August 8, 2025, at his home in Columbia, Tennessee at the age of 96.
Billy is survived by his son Steve (Donna) Garner of Columbia, Tennessee, daughter Kathy Loveless of Columbia, Tennessee; four grandchildren Tiffany (John) Walls of Texas, Andrea (Terrell) Yeiser of Hohenwald, Tennessee, Niki (David) Baxter of Columbia, Tennessee, Kristen (Lance) Horton of Columbia, Tennessee; 13 great-grandchildren; 10 great-greatgrandchildren and 1 on the way.
Billy wore many hats throughout his life – serving as a teacher, working as a surveyor, and spending time with Consolidated Aluminum, yet he was always a famer at heart, tending to the fields he loved. Above all, he devoted his life wholeheartedly to the Lord and to his family, whose love and faith were the foundation of all he did.
Billy served faithfully as a deacon at the Centerville Church of Christ. After moving to Columbia to be closer to family, he and Juanita placed their membership with Graymere Church of Christ, where they continued to worship and serve.
Graveside service was held August 14 at 11 a.m. at Memory Gardens in Centerville.
Billy will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
