Garner, Juanita Sue
On the morning of April 6, 2023, Juanita Sue Springer Garner passed away in Columbia, Tennessee, at the age of 95 years.
She was born in Hickman County (Coble) on January 1, 1928, to the late Iverson Edward and Mamie Hudgins Springer.
Mrs. Juanita married the love of her life in 1946, Mr. Billy Garner, and they celebrated 76 years together. She was a member of the Graymere Church of Christ. They lived in Coble most of their lives and moved to Columbia in 2016 to be closer to their children.
She was an accomplished seamstress. She also made quilts, crochet items and many other beautiful works over the years. In their younger days they loved to play rook and bowl with friends and traveled to Gatlinburg several times a year. She also did volunteer work for the Centerville Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Batton Springer, Ruth Skelton, Rebecca Floyd, Laverne O’Guin, Martha Emma McNabb, Annie Lou Springer, and Floy Beth Springer.
Along with her husband, Billy Garner, Mrs. Juanita leaves behind her loving son and daughter; Steve (Donna) Garner, Summertown and Kathy Loveless, Columbia, grandchildren, Tiffany (John) Walls, Texas, Andrea (Terrell) Yeiser, Hohenwald, Niki (David) Baxter, Columbia, and Kristen (Lance) Horton, Columbia, 13 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sibling, Hezekiah (Reda) Springer.
Visitation with the family and friends will be held at McDonald Funeral Home in Centerville on Monday, April 10, 2023, beginning at 12:00 p.m. until the service time at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens in Centerville, TN.
