Carl Bailey Garner, 67, retired heavy equipment operator, died Saturday, October 15, 2022 at his residence in Columbia.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Brandon Cochran officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at http://www.oakesandnichols.com.

Born April 27, 1955 in Lewis County, he was the son of the late Billy Ray Garner and the late Della Ruth Shea Garner. He enjoyed spending time with his little dog, Smutt. Mr. Garner was a member of Cedar Hill Church of Christ.

Survivors include his aunt, Marie Ragsdale of Nashville; cousins, Mindie Lynne Ayers, Clifford Brooks, Jane Hughes, Jane Webb, Carla Hughes; and special friends, Charles and Melissa Lewis of Petersburg.

Active pallbearers will be Doug Rohde, Charles Lewis, Jim Vinson, Keith Balentine, Eddie Norman, Bubba Lewis, John Tosh, Neal Griggs, and Stanley Ward.

Visitation with the family will be held Friday, October 21 beginning at 4 p.m. at Oakes and Nichols Funeral Home in Columbia. Funeral services will begin Saturday, October 22, at 3 p.m.
