In Loving Memory of James Roy “Jim” Gadberry, a cherished member of the Centerville Church of Christ, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on May 23, 2024 at the age of 81.
Born on March 3, 1943 to the late Roy and Hazel Gadberry in Roswell, New Mexico, he shared a life of joy, love, and devotion.
Jim married the love of his life, Tommie Wilson in 1962. Their marriage was a testament to true partnership and unwavering love. Together, they built a home filled with warmth and happiness, raising their family with strong values.
An avid fisherman, Jim found pleasure in the serenity of fishing. Whether casting a line from a quiet lakeshore or a boat, he relished the peace it brought him and often shared this passion with his family. Grilling and fish fries were a staple of his gatherings, where his skill at the grill and his infectious laughter brought joy to all. Hunting with his grandchildren was another favorite pastime, creating countless cherished memories in the great outdoors. His enthusiasm for sharing these moments fostered a special bond with each of his grandchildren, who will forever hold these experiences dear.
Jim and Tommie also enjoyed traveling, exploring new places, and visiting family. Their adventures together, both near and far, were filled with love and laughter. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he found great comfort and community within the Centerville Church of Christ. His presence at the church was marked by his kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith.
In addition to his parents Jim is preceded in death by his sister Judy Holbrook.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Tommie Gadberry of Centerville, Tennessee, their children, Kelly (Mark) Anderson of Centerville, Tennessee, Tamra Gadberry of Waverly, Tennessee, Kerry (Deano) LeChance of last Cruces, New Mexico, William (Patricia) Gadberry of Arkansas, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. His memory will also be cherished by numerous friends and extended family members.
Visitation with the family will be 25 May 2024 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home, Inc. – Hickman County. Funeral Services will be held 26 May 2024 at 2:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Centerville, TN.
