Shirley Louise Kirkland Forbes 69 of Hohenwald passed away October 30, 2020 at Maury Regional Medical Center. She was born in Nashville, TN to the late Elizabeth Edna Kaney Blackwell on April 30,1951.  Along with her mother she was preceded in death by her stepfather Albert Earl Blackwell and brothers Amos Blackwell and Richard Kirkland.  Mrs. Forbes began a career as a school bus driver for Metro School system where she eventually retired from. During this career she met the love of her life, Ronald Forbes and they were married January 17, 1983.  Shirley enjoyed a game of bowling or setting off on a travel adventure. She and Ronald and sometimes friends would hop on a plane and take off for Hawaii to make memories that would last a lifetime.

Along with her husband, Mrs. Forbes leaves behind a son Timothy (Sherry) Jackson; grandchildren Kele and T.J. Jackson; four great grandchildren; siblings Judy Young, Jerry Wayne Blackwell, Harry (Patsy) Raines, Terry (Dean) Ashworth, and Travis Wann. She also leaves to cherish her memory special friends Twila Pigg, Mary Eady, Sue Holloway, “Tommie” Eugenia Roberson; a special cousin  Charlie (Karla) Greer; friends of Metro School Bus drivers and a host nieces, nephews and many other special friends.
