Michael “Mike” Lee Easley, 69, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2024, in Hohenwald, Tennessee surrounded by his loving family. Born in Memphis, Tennessee, on June 10, 1955, to the late James Edward and Mary Josephine “Jo” Turner Easley, Mike grew into a man of wisdom and warmth, known to all for his faith first then the love of his family and church family,
Mike dedicated 42 years of love and partnership to his wife, Darleene Anne Jones Easley. Together, they embraced a family that includes their children, Aaron Easley and Crystal Easley, and were blessed with grandchildren, Anne Easley, Michael Easley, and Christopher Swader. His sister, Michelle Easley Delk, shared in the joys and sorrows of their family life. Although preceded in death by his child Michael Sean Easley and grandchildren, Allen Swader, Brianna Swader, Mike’s legacy of love and strength lives on through his family.
Mike’s life’s work was farming, where he found solace in the quietness of being outdoors. Animals were his silent companions, and he found joy in their presence and in the daily tasks that caring for them entailed. He loved to tinker on all kinds of projects.
Mike served in the Marine Corps and in his community. He loved to provide practical help for the people he cared about, including strangers.
A celebration of Mike’s life will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at Freedom Holy Temple, beginning at 2:00 pm.
