Harold Allen Dyer of Holiday, 72, died December 5, 2009. Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at McDonald Funeral Home in Hohenwald. Interment followed in the Memorial Gardens. Born February 11, 1936, Mr. Dyer served in the United States Army and worked as a forklift mechanic in Nashville. Harold and his wife, Valley Juanita Stephens Dyer, were married for 45 years and worked to raise their children. After retirement, they moved to the Tennessee River, a lifelong dream. His hobbies included building and flying model airplanes, working on cars, having fun and loving his family. Survivors include his wife, Juanita of Holiday; one son, William Smith of Hohenwald; two daughters, Helen Quillen and Carrie Tatum, both of Hohenwald; two grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson; two brothers, Glenn Dyer of Garner, North Carolina; and Randel Dyer of Hendersonville; three sisters, Mary Jane Crotzer of Whitehouse, Judy Ragland of Bethpage, and Peggy Pennington of Portland; lots of nieces, nephews, and friends. Mr. Dyer was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce; mother and father, Earl and Mary Ellen Townes Dyer; two brothers and two sisters.
