Durham, Tammy Joy
At the age of 52, Ms. Tammy Joy Acton Durham left this earthly world after a six-year battle with cancer on Sunday April 25, 2021.
Tammy was truly an inspiration to everyone that has had the honor of knowing her. She was one of the strongest, bravest, most loving individuals one could have the pleasure of meeting. She always told her family during her battle that she gained her strength through GOD and continued to take care of others before herself. Tammy lived her life to the fullest and cherished every memory made with her family and especially her grandchildren. They were her entire world.
Ms. Durham enjoyed getting creative with various art and craft projects that often displayed the talent in which she was given. She produced anything from cross pillows to wooden trinkets for her family to cherish. She enjoyed being outdoors in the garden creating a beautiful floral display from the painted rocks in her rock garden. There was no better place to be than by the water. She loved anything from the river to the ocean and if family was close nothing else mattered in her world. Ms. Durham’s infectious smile would brighten any room and any visitor was guaranteed to leave her home smiling followed with a big hug and I love you on the way out.
She was born in Lafayette, IN on January 22,1969 to Mrs. Rose Evelyn Plant Tharp and the late Delbert Wayne Acton.
Along with her mother she is survived by her stepfather Ricky Tharp; children Steven Wayne Durham (Amanda Pulley), and Jeanie Nichole Hamm (Kyle); grandchildren Chloe Stewart, Olivia Durham, Hayden Durham, Mabyn Durham, Rylan Durham, Kelsey Pulley, Paisley Kellogg, Braylon Kellogg, and Klara and Kamri Hamm. Tammy also leaves behind to cherish her memory her siblings Jeanie (Steve) Billdilli, John Acton, and Gary (Katerina) Acton.
A private celebration of life will take place later.
