Mrs. Byrne Keaton Dunn, born August 1, 1932, in Milan, TN, to the late John Leroy Keaton & Ruth (Spellings) Keaton, passed away on March 21, 2022, at the age of 89.

She graduated from Milan High School in 1950. On January 5, 1952, she married Mr. Hulon O. Dunn, Sr., and in 1956 they moved to Hohenwald where they took ownership of The Lewis County Herald from Mr. Ernest Pollock. For more than 50 years she was the editor/publisher for The Herald. She was also a 50-year member of the Eastern Star, a charter member of the Pilot Club of Hohenwald, and a member/elder of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. In 2009 she was awarded the Lewis County Legend Award by the Lewis County Chamber of Commerce.

Mrs. Dunn is survived by her children, son Hulon O. Dunn Jr. & wife Valaurie of Hohenwald, son, Walton L. Dunn of Hohenwald, son Robert A. Dunn & wife Jessica of Pegram, TN, and daughter Becky Jane Newbold, also by brother John L. Keaton & wife Elaine of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Sisters Nancy Tucker & Elizabeth Ownby of Milan, TN, brother-in-law Sherrell Dunn & wife Phoebe of Augusta, GA, along with 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews.

She is preceded in death in addition to her parents by her husband, Hulon O. Dunn Sr., and son-in-law Charles Elliott Newbold III.

Services for Mrs. Dunn will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2022 with visitation being held from 10:30 AM – 1:00 PM and the Funeral Service beginning 1:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home – Hohenwald. Burial will follow in the Swiss Cemetery, Hohenwald, TN.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Pilot Club of Hohenwald or the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
