Dickens, Lou Ellen
Mrs. Lou Ellen Dickens, beloved wife, mother, and devoted Christian, passed away peacefully at the age of 64, in Dickson, Tennessee on March 26, 2024. Lou was born in Pearl, Mississippi to the late Forrest and Jacqueline Corley, on February 16, 1960.
Lou graduated from Brandon High in 1979 and later married her husband Alan Ray Dickens on November 29, 1986. Their union made her a mother to two beautiful daughters. As a military spouse, Lou embraced the challenges and frequent relocations with grace and determination.
Lou had a deep passion for flowers, gardening and baking almost everything from scratch. Lou’s love for cooking was matched by her love for her family. Her baking brought comfort and happiness to countless gatherings, turning ordinary moments into cherished memories. Lou was a longtime devoted member of Fairfield Church of Christ in Centerville, Tennessee.
She was a woman whose life was a beautiful tapestry woven with threads of unwavering dedication to Christ. From the earliest days of her youth to the twilight years of her life, her faith remained steadfast and true. Every decision, every endeavor, was guided by the light of her Savior’s teachings. Her devotion was not merely a Sunday ritual but a daily communion. In times of joy, she praised him with a grateful heart; in times of sorrow, she found solace in his comforting embrace. Through trials and triumphs in life her faith remained unyielding.
Lou leaves to cherish her memory, husband Alan Ray Dickens, of Centerville, Tennessee, daughter Amanda (Ryan) Myles of Nunnelly, Tennessee, Daughter Holly (Zach) Roberts of Nunnelly, Tennessee; sister Leanne Steininger of Texas, sister Lynn Guntner of West Virginia; grandchildren, Arianna, Jaxon, Marchelle, Armani, and LaDainian; a host of special nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly, along with her church family, and special friends. ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.’- Philippians 4:13
