Deen, Leonard Brown
Leonard Brown Deen was born on April 14, 1926, in the Shady Grove Community of Hickman County, and passed away on September 6, 2019, in Columbia, Tennessee, at the age of 93. He was the son of the late Elbert Deen and Lillie Martin Deen.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Cooper Deen of Lyles. Sons, Earl (Marietta) Deen of Bellevue, Greg (Jill) Deen of Primm Springs, and Pat (Laura) Deen of Columbia. Daughter, Lynette (Jim) Carlucci of Dickson, Tennessee. Grandchildren, Adam (Tavia) Carlucci, Diana (Dustin) Bailey, Rebecca (Alex) Wilkins, and Matthew Deen. Six great-grandchildren. Brothers, Martin Deen of Columbia, James Deen of Columbia, and Granville Deen of Clarksville along with many other relatives, friends, and loved ones.
Mr. Deen worked as a carpenter. He built several houses and did many remodeling jobs over the years. He also was a minister. He spent over 50 years sharing the gospel with others. During that time he would attend, and often times, host singings at his home. At home, he kept a large garden and grew many different types of flowers and vegetables.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to all those that provided care, especially the staff of Home Instead and Life Care Center of Columbia.
Visitation will be on 9 Sep 2019 from 4:00 PM and 10 Sep 2019 from 11:00 AM -1:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home-Hickman Co. The funeral service will be held at McDonald Funeral Home, on 10 Sep 2019 at 1:00 PM.
Pallbearers will include grandchildren and nephews.
