On the morning of April 14,2021 Mr. Willard Dean Davis passed away at his Hohenwald residence surrounded by his family. He was born in Pulaski to the late John L. and Annie Weatherman Davis on March 30,1935. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter Paula Mynor, two brothers, and four sisters.

 At the age of 18 Mr. Davis enlisted in the United States Air Force and was deployed to Germany and England before being sent to fight in the Korean War. After returning from overseas, he left the military and began working for Georgia Wholesale Fences for the next 50+ years before retiring. He was a lifelong resident of Columbus, Georgia until recently he called Hohenwald his home.

Mr. Davis enjoyed spending time with his family and talking about how his Granddaddy was best friends with Frank and Jesse James. He enjoyed being outside and was often found tending to his vegetable garden. After a long day work, he would fire up the smoker and prepare his infamous BBQ that was requested by anyone who knew him. One bite was all it took to convince you he made the best. In his spare time, he would often take pieces left overs from fencing jobs and create masterpieces from birdhouses, to grills, to smokers.

Mr. Davis is survived by his daughters Thersia (Brad) Caswell of Murfreesboro and Melissa (Doug) Duke of Hohenwald; nine grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Visitation will be held Wednesday April 21,2021 from 1:00-2:00 pm with a military honor service immediately following in the funeral home Chapel.
