Davis, Kevin Scott
Kevin Scott Davis, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2023, in Columbia, Tennessee, at the age of 57. Born on October 6, 1966, in Lansing, Michigan, Kevin grew up in a loving home, the son of Jacquelyn Burt Davis and Nick Mendoza. Throughout his life, he embraced the values of family, hard work, and laughter, leaving a legacy of warmth and kindness that will be remembered by all who knew him.
Kevin’s journey through life was one of devotion and joy, particularly evident in his 22-year marriage to the love of his life, Dana Smith Davis. Their partnership was a testament to mutual respect and adoration, and together they navigated life’s challenges and celebrated its triumphs.
His pride and joy were his children, Kristen (Ivan) Kellman, Brandon Davis, Jessica (Russ) Quimby, Joshua (Alison) Conley, and Ameila Davis (Zack Harper). Each of them embodies aspects of Kevin’s spirit, from his sense of humor to his unyielding kindness. As a grandfather, he was overjoyed by the laughter and hugs of his grandchildren, Stratton Jay, London Rhys, and Stellan Blu Kellman. He had a special aunt Sue Bedell and one sister Kristin (Ed) Bond. Kevin was preceded in death by his grandparents Gerald and Joan Burt, his uncle Terry Burt, and his parents.
Kevin’s passion for his work was evident to his colleagues at the GM plant in Tennessee, where he dedicated many years of service. He was a proud member of the United Auto Workers (UAW) and shared his love for cars with his friends. His professional life was characterized by the same integrity and commitment he showed in all his endeavors.
An enthusiast of cars, Kevin found joy in the roar of engines and the sleek lines of a well-crafted vehicle. He had a collection of trophies from his drag racing days. He loved his dogs, Eddie and Charlie. He also enjoyed going to the gym, hunting, fishing, and watching movies with his wife.
Those who knew Kevin would describe him as loving, funny, generous, and kind. He would stop at nothing to help a loved one or friend in need.
