Davidson, Gracie Lee
Gracie married Lloyd on December 18, 1948, and together they built the life they loved. Gracie wanted to nurture life through her love of gardening. Her green thumb transformed her yard into fragrant blooms and a place of beauty where she found joy. Beyond her gardening, Gracie’s cooking was well known among family and friends. Her kitchen was simple but a place of magic where she effortlessly transformed ingredients into delicious meals. She found the importance of teaching family how to cook cornbread, simple meals, and methods of canning. Lloyd and Gracie built their forever home where many would gather. Together they ran a successful Deer Lodge and did so for 20+ years. Gracie loved children, she did not have any of her own but loved to spoil all her nieces and nephews. Her love knew no bounds. She found joy in watching them grow, learn, and flourish. Her gentle guidance and support will forever be remembered.
Among her many talents, Gracie was an avid quilter. Her skilled hands wove together intricate patterns creating heirloom quilts that will be treasured by her loved ones. Each stitch was a testament to her patience and importance to detail.
In addition to her parents Gracie is preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Davidson, brother, Bobby Thomas Simmons, brother Joe Simmons, brother, Billy Simmons, brother Buck Simmons, and sister, Edith Rose Simmons.
Those left to cherish her precious memory are her sister, Jean Parker of Duck River, Tennessee, sister, Nina Brooks of La Vergne, Tennessee, brother John Wayne Simmons of Grandberry, Texas and host of nieces and nephews.
Gracie was a long-time member of the Pine Grove Baptist Church. Her presence brought light and warmth to all who knew her, and her absence leaves a void that cannot be filled. Though she may have left this world, her memory will continue to bloom in the hearts of those she has touched.
