Curry, Myra Jane
Myra Jane Curry left this world to be with her heavenly Father Sunday morning, September 3, 2023. The living embodiment of strength and faith, she exemplified a fullness of life in her years on this Earth.
Myra was born the daughter of Clovis Sullivan and Beulah Lee Johns in Hohenwald, on October 18, 1956. She was a graduate of Lewis County High School and Columbia State Community College and continued her education at Middle Tennessee State University. She worked as an editor and bookkeeper, and she was a longtime member of WellSpring Christian Church in Spring Hill.
On May 30, 1981, Myra married Jim Curry, and the two were inseparable for their 42 years of marriage. Myra took great joy in being a mother and loved her family deeply; they feel the same joy and love for her. A woman of character and values, Myra stood strong in her faith in Christ. While her family will longingly miss the matriarch of their family, they look forward to joining her in eternity.
Myra is survived by her husband, Jim Curry; daughter, Rebecca Curry; son, Ryan (Erin) Curry; brother, Clovis (Thelma) Johns; sister, Rita Bragg; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ricky Alan Johns, and in-laws, Troy J. and Evelyn I. Curry.
Myra served on the Vanderbilt-Ingram Patient and Family Advisory Council, and she selflessly donated her body to science at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Memorials may be made to Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center.
The family will visit with family and friends in the coming weeks.
