Cummins, Wendell K
Wendell Keith Cummins, age 57, husband of Christina Cummins, and a resident of Columbia, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care Center.
Funeral service was held on Friday, February 12, 2021 at Heritage Funeral Home with Randy Kersey and Rick Points officiating. Burial followed in Polk Memorial Gardens. The visitation was held on Thursday with a Masonic Service at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Born on August 5, 1963 in Maury County, Keith was the son of Carolyn Henson Cummins and Kenneth & Betty Cummins. He previously worked for Stauffer Chemical Company and worked later as a truck driver for several years. He proudly served as a Mason with the Ed T. Workman Masonic Lodge #610 in Mt. Pleasant and was a member of Main Street Church of Christ. Keith was an avid sports fan, specifically UT football, Atlanta Braves baseball, and Nascar. He also enjoyed watching dirt track racing. Above all, he loved his family, especially his grandkids.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of twenty-one years, Christina Gore Cummins of Columbia; children, Kristin Cummins of Mt. Pleasant, Kourtney (Mike) Dale of Murfreesboro, Karissa (Kirk) Barnes of Hohenwald, and Michael (Stephanie) Odom of Mt. Pleasant; brothers, Kent (Kim) Cummins of Columbia, Michael Foshee of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren: Maeleigh Wicker, Maklynn Wicker, Kenna Sharpe, Kasen Sharpe, Kirklyn Barnes; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Madilyn Wicker.
Pallbearers were as follows: Kent Cummins, Michael Foshee, Michael Odom, Mike Dale, Nathan Runions, and Jimmy Bratton. Honorary pallbearers included Jim Bailey, Farriel Scott, Mark McCain, Claude Brawner, the nurses and staff at NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care Center, and the staff at Dr. Ledbetter’s office.
