Culley, Janet Mae
Her Smile
Though her smile is gone forever
and her hand I cannot touch
I still have so many memories
Of the one I loved so much.
Her memory is now my keepsake
Which with I’ll never part.
God has her in his keeping
I have her in my heart.
Sadly missed but never forgotten.

Our precious mother, Janet Mae Culley passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at her home at the Life Center of Centerville in Tennessee. She devoted her life to her 5 children, who made up the entirety of her world, Tamara Smith, Charlie Curtis, Karen Oler (Doug), Monique Amick and Nicole Hage (Will).
Jan was born in Oakland County, MI on August 3, 1937 to Rae and Lucinda Mae (Littleson) Culley, and was a 1955 graduate of Birmingham High School. She went on to earn a secretarial associate’s degree at William Woods College in Fulton, MO.
Jan was a life long lover of horses and was an avid rider and barrel racer growing up in Michigan. She belonged to the Swingin H Riding Club and competed and placed in many competitions in the Red Cedar Hill Western Horse Show.
She moved to San Diego in 1973 to raise her children, and later moved to Centerville, TN where she resided until her passing.
Jan was a very talented seamstress and enjoyed scrapbooking, crafting, and supporting her family in every way possible. Our beautiful mother was a genuine and nurturing person, whose generosity and love was felt by all who knew her.
Besides her children, Jan is survived by her 15 beloved grandchildren, Salina, Nick, Jacque, Jeff, Charlie, Lauren, Todd, David, Mark, Katie, Megan, Alli, Matt, Rylie and Ryan, and her 6 great grandchildren, and several cousins, and dear friends.
