Ramona Johnson Coleman, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2023, in Linden, TN. Born on March 28, 1960, in Dayton, OH, she was a beacon of creativity, gentleness, and kindness that illuminated the lives of all who knew her.
Ramona was the cherished daughter of the late Raymond and Alma Johnson and the loving sister to her late siblings, Julia, Newt, Jean, and Mary. She was the devoted wife of the late Danny Coleman, and together they built a home that was a haven of warmth and love for their children and grandchildren.
As a homemaker, Ramona devoted her life to creating a nurturing and welcoming environment for her family. Her love and dedication were the foundation upon which her family thrived, and her legacy is carried forward by her surviving children, Mary Helen (Cary) Nicks, Jackie (Heather) Arnwine, David (Sam) Arnwine, and Amy Napier.
Ramona was a doting grandmother, cherishing every moment with her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her grandchildren, Craig and Adelynn Nicks, and is survived by her loving grandchildren, Skylar, Serenity, Maggie, Zayden, Shyann, Trevor, Amelia, Scottie, Peyton, and Cary. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and she in theirs.
A woman of many interests and talents, Ramona was known for her creative spirit. She had a passion for collecting things, each piece a cherished memory or a token of her unique taste. She loved to piddle around her yard and house, always finding a new project to immerse herself in or a new way to make her home even more welcoming. Ramona was always on the go, her energy and enthusiasm for life infectious to all who knew her.
In her passing, we remember and celebrate Ramona’s life, her love, and her spirit. She was a woman of grace, compassion. Her gentle soul, kind heart, and creative spirit will forever be cherished and remembered by her family and friends.
Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit lives on in the hearts of her loved ones.
A burial will take place at The Middle Tennessee State Veterans Park. The date will be announced once available.
