Cole, Letitia McClearen
Letitia McClearen Cole, age 83 of Nashville, passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2010 surrounded by family members. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 13, 2010 at Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home, 2707 Gallatin Road in Nashville. Burial took place Sunday, November 114, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Bethel Cemetery in Farmer’s Exchange. She was born in the Topsy Community of Wayne County on March 28, 1927. Letitia pioneered the “Mothers Day Out” program in the early ‘60’s at Inglewood United Methodist Church, which still exists today. Mrs. Cole was preceded in death by parents, James Edgar “Ed” Skelton and Fannie Pebble Edwards Skelton and husband of 30 years, Charles Luther McClearen. She is survived by devoted husband of 22 years, Robert G. Cole; two daughters, Brenda Kay McClearen and husband James Hubbard, and Martha Pebble McClearen; two sisters, Parasada Skelton Riley and Greta Mae Cothran; two grandchildren, Kelly Dawn Reynolds and husband Jake, and Troy Lynn Morris; and great-grandchild, Beckett Troy Reynolds.
