Cochran, Floy Hudgins
Floy Hudgins Cochran, a cherished member of the Fairfield community, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025, in Centerville, Tennessee, at the age of 91.
Born on March 22, 1934, in Centerville to the late Ollie Jones Hudgins and Annie Lou Russell Hudgins, Floy lived a life defined by faith, family, and service.
She was united in marriage to Willie Carl Cochran, and together they shared 50 wonderful years before his passing in 2003. Their loving union brought forth three children: Sheila Brady, Chiquita (Gary) Wright, and Darin (Lori) Cochran.
Floy was the proud grandmother of Jana (Vance) Willis, Brynne (Alan) James, Misty (Jonathan) Aydelott, Christopher (Arielle) Wright, Patrick (Melody) Brady, Alison (Tommy) Stanley, Quincy Cochran, and Carlin (Dalton) Thomasson. Her growing legacy includes 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, each of whom brought her immense joy.
She is also survived by her loving siblings: Georgia Garner, Dot Dickens, Hilda Atkinson, Barbara Beard, and Ray Hudgins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Bertha Mae Hudgins, Geneva Bozza, Dale Moss, Stanley Hudgins, Andrew Hudgins, Wayne Hudgins, Russell Hudgins, Luther “Red” Hudgins, Johnny Hudgins, and Paul Hudgins.
A devoted member of Fairfield Church of Christ for over 75 years, Mrs. Cochran was affectionately known as “Mom” to all who walked through its doors. Her unwavering faith and warm heart left an indelible impact on generations.
Floy also dedicated many years as the secretary in the Vocational Department of Hickman County High School, where she mentored and supported countless students with kindness and care.
In honor of her lifelong love for education and service, the family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Carl and Floy Cochran Scholarship Fund, in care of Fairfield Church of Christ.
Visitation with the family will be 27 Sep 2025 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County and 28 Sep 2025 from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at Fairfield Church of Christ, Centerville, TN. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00pm with burial at Charles L Nickell Memorial Park, Centerville, TN.
