Chandler, Kenneth Wade
Kenneth Wade Chandler was born in Nashville, TN on March 17, 1943 and passed away on January 6, 2025 at the age of 81. He was the oldest child of the late Wade and Willie Mary Chandler. He grew up on a farm in the Bluewater community and was a lifelong native of Hickman County, where he worked and raised his family.
He was first employed by Genesco, then worked many years at TennCon and after its closure he worked at YKK. In his time, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed time at his and his brother Clay’s camp on the Duck River.
He loved sharing with friends and having many “fish fries” at the camp. He could not only catch fish—He could cook them also! He grew many pumpkins many years and sold them at his home. People came from far and near each year to get pumpkins from him. After his retirement, he grew vegetables and was an active participant at the Farmers Marker at the Riverpark, where he made new and renewed old friendships. He was a member of the Fairfield Church of Christ
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara McCoy Chandler, sons Jeff (Cecillia) Chandler and Ricky (Robin) Chandler, 3 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, brother Clay Chandler, sisters Jane Gilbert and Freda Simerly. He is preceded in death by brothers Lehman, Glenn, and Frank Carter Chandler.
He loved his family and will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He loved music and his two favorite songs were I Heard It Through the Grapevine and Bad Moon Rising by Creedence Clearwater Revival. He could shake a leg in his younger years to these old hits.
