Chambers, Frank B
Frank B. Chambers, 86, of Hohenwald, formerly of Grand Junction, Tennessee departed this life Friday evening, March 1, 2024, at AHC Lewis County in Hohenwald.
He was born in Memphis to the late Sam Frank and Annie Edna Hughes Chambers and, was the widower of Billie Jo Chambers whom he married on March 18, 1956. Mrs. Chambers passed away on July 15, 2020, following 64 years of marriage. He lived 28 years in Cayce, Mississippi and in Grand Junction, from 1993 to 2010. In 2010, The Chambers’ moved to Hohenwald where he realized a life-long dream of living beside a creek and enjoying the country life.
Mr. Chambers served his country in the US Marine Corps from December 1955 until December 1958. He was a welder with Lewellyn Manufacturing in Memphis until 1976 and went on to work with Troxel Corporation in Moscow, Tennessee until his retirement. He was a member of Grand Junction Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School Teacher.
A talented wood worker and craftsman, he was a gunsmith, builder of wooden scale models including one of a bus on display at a Collierville museum. He even hand-built a cast iron stove from scratch for his daughter.
Services are 3 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2024, at the Shackelford Funeral Home chapel in Bolivar with burial in Grand Junction Cemetery.
He leaves three daughters, Debra Reaves (Phillip) of Collierville, Rhonda Bean (Tom) of Grand Junction and, Niki McConnell (Ron McMahon) of Hohenwald; his sister, Geneva Chapman of Pontotoc, Mississippi; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
