Girdie Kathleen Morrow Carroll was born June 30, 1934 in Wayne County, TN to the union of the late Charlie and Mollie Bett Henson Morrow. She was united in marriage to the late Malcolm William Carroll on January 19, 1951. Mr. Carroll preceded her in death on March 02, 2009. She worked as a homemaker, taking care of her children and then when the time came helping with her grandchildren. Ms. Girdie loved to cook and always wanted to share with those she loved. She was a faithful member of the Pineview Church of Christ in Hohenwald. Ms. Girdie departed this life on Thursday, February 20, 2025 in Waynesboro, TN making her stay in this life some 90 years, 7 months, and 22 days.
She is survived by her 6 sons, Malcolm Carroll Jr. and wife Lawanda of Savannah, TN; Bobby Carroll and wife Sarah; Joe Carroll and wife Jennifer both of Waynesboro, TN; Tommy Carroll of Columbia, TN; Billy Carroll; Donnie Carroll and wife Julie both of Waynesboro, TN; one daughter, Betty Williams and husband Doug of Hohenwald TN; 2 daughters-in-law Pam J. Carroll of Hohenwald, TN; Pam H. Carroll of Clifton, TN; she is also survived by 11 grandchildren Wesley Prater and wife Donna, Joy Peters and husband David, Keith Carroll and wife Dana, Nick Carroll, Amy Urffer and husband Isaac, Jamie Seagraves and husband Michael, Lisa Carroll, Jennifer Beasley and husband Jonathan, Danny Carroll, Jonathan Carroll and wife Sandy, Ashley Carroll 3 step grandchildren Donny Williams, Denny Williams, Amy Carroll. She is also survived by 18 great grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband of 58 years, she is preceded in death by three sons, Mike Carroll, William Carroll, Ronnie Carroll; one daughter, Mary Ann Carroll; three grandsons, Barry Carroll, Hunter Carroll and Jeremy Carroll; three brothers, Alfred Morrow, Raymond Morrow, and Winfred Morrow and two sisters, Opal Galloway and Myrtle Harvey.
Funeral services began at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Pineview Church of Christ with Bobby Carroll officiating. Interment followed in the North Highland Cemetery.
