Mr. Gary Allen Carroll was born on May 22, 1943 in Michigan, the 6th and youngest child born to Frank Stanley and Dorothy Eleanor Eakers Carroll. Mr. Carroll passed away on January 26, 2023 In Centerville, Tennessee. He was 79 years old.

Mr. Carroll is predeceased by his adoring wife of 51 years, Joyce Ann Halbrooks Carroll, their infant son, James David Carroll, both of his parents and all of his siblings, along with Mrs. Carroll’s parents with whom he was close. After becoming widowed, their beloved dog Shadow was beside him through many transitions late in his life.

Mr. Carroll is survived by his four children, Belinda Ann Carroll (Nathan) Bates, Jeffery Allen (Stacy Nestler) Carroll, Sr., Michelle Renae Carroll (Davy) Gossett, William Allen “Mickey” (Shelby Ellis) Carroll. Eight grandchildren: Timothy Joshua Kelley, Adam Derrick (Jessica Mofield) Kelley, Jeffery Allen (Angela Poteete Roberts) Carroll, Jr., Ashley Gossett (Cody) Jones and Justin Michael (Jessica Wauford) Gossett, Aphrodite Rose Carroll, Kumara Ash Carroll and Laylie Marie Carroll.  Eight great grandchildren as follows: Makenzie Renae Kelley, Timothy Evan Kelley, Madison Kelley, Malachi Kelley, Samuel Newman Roberts, Elizabeth Grace Roberts, Cheyenne Renae Jones and Austin Levi Jones. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other friends and family members.

Mr. Carroll was a certified Master Welder and spent many years working at Great Lakes Steel Mill; He sacrificed much to move the family to his wife’s hometown of Pleasantville in 1979 and he loved country living and country music. He spent many years after the move to Tennessee as an entrepreneur, he worked at Tencon until it closed. Near the end of his career, he worked for years as a delivery driver for a local route involving many counties.

Mr. Carroll donated monthly to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and Hickman Humane Society. In keeping with his generosity, memorial donations can be made in his name to Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Hickman Humane Society.

A private burial service was held for Mr. Carroll at Beech Grove Cemetery, Pleasantville, TN.
