Edwin Eugene “Gene” Carroll was born on July 10, 1941 to the late Ross and Loraine Hickerson Carroll, and passed away on September 26, 2021 at the age of 80.

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife Patsy Davidson Carroll, brothers Cletus and Eunice, sisters Faye Qualls, Thema Quillen and Peggy Horner.

Gene is survived by his son Wayne (Carolyn) Carroll, daughter Sherry (Doug) Lane, Tammy (Charles Worley) Carroll, grandchildren Dr. Justin Lane, Braden Lane, Kirsten Lane, Atticus Lane, Carrie Johnson (Travis) and Lindsay (Ollie Ryan) Willis, and great-grandchildren Ellasyn, Jade, and Ben.

Gene spent many years as the” Lance Man”, and worked for more than 20 years for the Town of Centerville at the water treatment plant, and was known to live life to the fullest.

Visitation with the family will be held on October 1, 2021 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM in the McDonald Funeral Home – HIckman County and October 2, 2021 from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM at Fairfield Baptist Church, Centerville, TN.  Funeral Services will be held on October 2, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Fairfield Baptist Church, Centerville, TN.  Burial will follow in the Charles L Nickell Memorial Park, Centerville, TN.
