Buchanan, Timothy D
Timothy Dwayne Buchanan, better known as Tim, by many as “Buck”, and a few as “Papa Tim,” passed away on February 24, 2019. He was born on December 26, 1967, in Humphreys County to the late Billy Buchanan and Callie Lynn Whitworth Buchanan.
He leaves behind his mother, Callie Buchanan of Parsons. His wife of 18 years, Beverly Williams Buchanan of Only. Daughter, Valerie Tanner and her fiancé Jesse Woodall of Centerville. Sisters, Vicky Buchanan of Tennessee Ridge, and Cindy Buchanan of Louisiana. Brother, Joe Buchanan of Camden. Two grandchildren Luke and Dylan O’Guin. 2 Nieces, a nephew, 3 Great Nieces, and a Great Nephew along with others who were relatives, friends, and loved ones as well as many brothers and sisters in Public Safety.
Tim spent more than 30 years working in Law Enforcement with The State of Tennessee Department of Corrections, the Hickman County Sheriff’s Office, and the Centerville Police Department. Most recently he spent seven years as Assistant Chief of Police for the City of Centerville. When he wasn’t protecting his community, he spent time chasing crappie on the Tennessee River. He had a deep love for fishing and being on God’s waters with his boat. While on duty or off, this man was dedicated to service, uplifting the human spirit though laughter and being there when needed. A true guardian angel and friend for the town of Centerville. He will be deeply missed by so many. He will forever be remembered for the way he put a smile on the face of others through his kind words and unique sense of humor. Goodbye Buck. We love you and you dropped your pocket.
