Tammy was predeceased by her loving parents, William and Blanche Carroll, her devoted husband, Ricky D. Brown, her cherished daughter Cagney Brown, her brother Larry T. Carroll, and her dear mother-in-law Johnnie Brown. Her lineage traces back to her late grandparents, Taylor and Emma Bryant, and Fred and Virginia Carroll, who instilled in her the values of family and community that she carried throughout her life.
She will be dearly missed and forever remembered by her daughters, Candace and Cainan Workman, and Crystal and Wally Thomas. Her brother, Gary and his wife Debbie Carroll, will hold onto the memories of their times together. Tammy’s contagious spirit continues through her grandchildren, Braxtin Thomas, Caimora Workman, Lucky Thomas, Caimyaa Workman, Caimoni Workman, and Ryker Jones, all of whom she adored immensely. A special bond was shared with her niece Cassandra Carroll, who was more like a daughter to Tammy, as well as her niece Lori Carroll Gray and nephews Michael and David Carroll.
Tammy’s commitment to her community was evident through her active membership in the Lewis County Jaycee’s from 1990 until the chapter closed. Her enthusiasm and leadership shone brightly as she served as the director of the Lewis County Christmas Parade, and she dedicated many years to volunteering for the needy children’s Christmas.
Known for her infectious humor, Tammy was the life of the party-aptly nicknamed “Downtown Tammy Brown.” She had a gift for entertaining and an open door policy for friends and family. Her interests were as varied as her talents; she spent countless hours with her grandchildren. Tammy’s love for playing cards with friends, listening to music, reading, and painting ceramics brought her much joy and offered a glimpse into her creative spirit.
As the director of the Lewis County Christmas Parade, Tammy channeled her passion for celebration into an event that brought the community together year after year. Her knack for organization and her flair for spectacle made the parade a highlight of the season, a testament to her love for her community.
Tammy’s absence will be deeply felt, but her spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her. Her laughter, and her unwavering support will be cherished memories that will continue to light up the lives of her family and friends.
