Brewer, Hollis Dalton
Hollis Dalton Brewer, born on May 29, 1946, in a cornfield in Lawrence County, TN, to the late Hubert Brewer and Vernie Mitchell, passed away on February 8, 2025, at the age of 78.
A devoted father and a man of deep faith, Hollis spent 55 years as a self-employed logger, working with the very material he loved—wood. His craftsmanship and dedication were evident in his contributions to Freedom Holy Temple Church, where he was a faithful member. He not only helped construct the wood logs from which the church was built but also played a vital role in building the entrance to the church cemetery.
Hollis was a jack of all trades, always ready with a story to tell. His family could sit for hours, listening to him speak about God and sharing the wisdom he had gathered over the years. He loved fishing, had a deep passion for music, and could pick up and play any instrument. He especially enjoyed playing the guitar and took great joy in teaching his children to play as well.
Married for over 40 years to his beloved late wife, Wilma, Hollis was a man whose life was marked by hard work, love for his family, and an unwavering faith in God. His memory will live on through the stories he shared, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave so freely.
Mr. Brewer is survived by his sons David, Joseph, Hollis, and Daniel Brewer, daughters Sheila McCann and Linda Bialick, 18 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
