Brewer, Helen Ann
Helen Ann Garner Brewer of Iron City, was born in Hohenwald, to the late Benjamin Willard Garner and Opal Orbit Grinder Garner.
Mrs. Brewer spent her childhood, in Perry County, being surrounded by the beauty the area has to offer. She would later meet the future love of her life Joe Ray Brewer. The two would marry and eventually move to Wayne County and establish their family in and around Collinwood. Being a hard worker, Mrs. Helen worked in several occupations throughout her adult life including as a textile manufacturer, seamstress and substitute teacher. With family a constant presence in her mind, she loved and deeply cherished the moments she spent with her children, grandchildren, family and friends. Being spiritually mindful she was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. All who knew her will cherish her memory as a mother, grandmother, Christian and friend. Helen Ann Garner Brewer passed from this life on January 25, 2025, at the Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, TN making her stay on this earth some of 79 years, 2 months and 11days.
She is survived by husband Joe Ray Brewer, son Tim Brewer (granddaughters Lara and Reagan), daughter Jo Anne Manley (son-in-law Darin and granddaughter Haley), daughter Leah, brothers Joe Garner (Edna), Jimmy Garner (Della), Roy Garner (Margaret), sister Connie Love (David), brother Phillip Garner, brothers-in-law Jerry Brewer (Rene) and Larry Brewer (Linda) and many nephews and nieces.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her parents-in-law Carl and Edith Brewer of Iron City, sister and brother-in-law Agnes and Henry Pendergrass, brother and sister-in-law Jerry and Katie Garner, sister-in-law Janie Bogus, and brother-in-law Jasper Brewer.
