Danny Lee Brake of Only, TN passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at the age of 71. Danny was born on October 17, 1950 to the late Ed & Mattie Lou (Nash) Brake. He grew up in Only as a boy with his 6 siblings. As a teen, he moved to Detroit, Michigan with his oldest sister to learn the trade of die cutting and packaging. Danny would do this for the remainder of his life until his retirement in 2019. He raised his family in Tullahoma and Hurricane Mills, TN. And after his retirement came home to his roots in Only, TN.

Danny loved Sunday drives (never going over the speed limit except that one time), fishing, Duck River, football, automobiles, and old country music. He never missed a moment to be a smart aleck. There was always laughing and jokes to be had in his presence. He loved his family and his dogs, Sassy and Sissy, with every ounce of his being.

He is survived in this life by his wife Jewell Brake of Only, TN; his children Shawn (Jennie) Thompson of Summertown, TN and April (Bo) Holley of Clarksville, TN; 7 grandchildren Ryan (Amber), Wesley, and Dillon Thompson; Dalton West, Ariel (Dale) Wallace, Lydia Kelly, and Cole Holley; 7 great-grandchildren; and His loving sisters Dorothy Clark, Glenda Leegan (Buddy Todd) and Dwana (Dale) Hicks; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter Heather Thompson-Hendrix, his brothers Jerry, Joe and Presley Brake; and his dog Feisty.

Visitation with the family will be August 6, 2022 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County.  Funeral Services will be August 7, 2022 at 2:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County with burial to follow at Wilkins Cemetery, Only, TN.
