Winford B Brackeen was born December 6, 1927 in Athens, AL to the late Ira C. and Amanda Stanford Brackeen and died June 22, 2011.

He was a master carpenter and built many houses in Lewis and surrounding counties. He was a Christian and a former elder of the Grinder’s Creek Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Doris Hinson Brackeen of Hohenwald; son, Jeff Brackeen of Hohenwald; daughter, Melody Eddins (Tom) of Hohenwald; brother, Marion Brackeen of Hohenwald; sister, Bessie Franklin of Fruitland, FL; daughter-in-law, Donna Brackeen of Hohenwald; also 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.   Burial was at Grinders Creek Church of Christ Cemetery, Hohenwald, TN.
