Marion Dolphus Brackeen, Jr., 94 Ray Street, died Friday, August 23, 2002 at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia. He was 41. The funeral was held Sunday, August 25 at 3:00 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home with Artie Collins, minister of Springer Church of Christ officiating. Burial was in the Himestown Cemetery. Mr. Brackeen was the son of Marion D. Brackeen, Sr. of Centerville, and Grace Thompson Svchlak of Hohenwald, born October 17, 1960 in Lewis County. He was employed as a truck driver. Survivors in addition to his parents include his wife, Bettie Kittrell Brackeen of Hohenwald; step-mother Bettie Brackeen of Centerville; step-father Frank Svchlak of Hohenwald; three daughters, Amanda, Gracie, and Rachel Brackeen of Hohenwald; a step-son, Fred Kittrell of Hohenwald; two brothers, Keith Brackeen, of Charleston, South Carolina, and Tim Brackeen of Centerville; a step brother, Floyd Sealy of Hohenwald; two sisters, Darlene Wix of Taylorsville, Illinois, and Juanita Wix of Summertown; two step-sisters, Jackie Lawson of Hohenwald, and Frankie Kerr of Mount Juliet.
