Shirley Ann Bobo, age 87 formerly of Hohenwald, TN, passed away February 11, 2023 in Columbia, TN, while surrounded by her loving family.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 17, 2023 at Hohenwald First United Methodist Church, 200 S Court St, Hohenwald, TN 38462. The Bobo family will receive friends from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Thursday, February 16th at McDonald Funeral Home at 20 West 2nd Street, Hohenwald, TN 38462.

Shirley entered this life on April 30, 1935 in Lacrosse, Wisconsin, daughter to the late Herman and Lillian Peterson. Shirley was a longtime member of the Hohenwald First United Methodist Church where she loved singing in the choir. For her, family and church were foremost in her life and greatly enriched it. She enjoyed cooking and baking, doing anything with family (it didn’t matter what), and sending cards for all occasions to friends and family. But nothing brought a smile quicker than watching and being with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and even the fur babies. In addition to her parents,

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Carlton Bobo and sister, Karen Peterson O’Connell.

Survivors include her loving children, Sharon (Joe) Englett, Scott Bobo, Linda (Frank) Tupper, Sandra (Abe) Gaskins, and Pete (Susan) Bobo. Shirley also leaves behind her nephew John O’Connell, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hohenwald First United Methodist Church, 200 S Court St, Hohenwald, TN 38462.
