Blocker, Thelma
Thelma Blocker, age 75, died January 2, 2010 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia. Funeral services were held 1:00 p.m. January 5, 2010 at McDonald Funeral Home with Bobby Carroll, minister of Pineview Church of Christ, officiating. Burial took place in the Memory Gardens in Centerville. Born October 5, 1934 in Wayne County, she was a daughter of the late Bill Poag and Agnes Nutt Poag. Mrs. Blocker was bookkeeper for Lewis County Manor from 1975 until becoming administrator in 1978 until 1991. “She was a dedicated and loyal employee,” stated Mark Davis, Chief Operations Officer for Tennessee Health Management. She is survived by her husband, James Wiley Blocker; daughter, Celeste Blocker of Hohenwald; sister, Marie Logan of Nashville; granddaughter, Aleczandria Blocker Duncan of Hohenwald; great granddaughter, Trezian Magenta Jagger Blocker Duncan, also of Hohenwald. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Alec Blocker. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Pine-view Church of Christ Benevolence Fund.
