Faye Carroll Blocker was born September 8, 1931 in Lewis County. She lived on Bailey Street in Columbia for many years. Faye passed away peacefully at 90 years of age on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at her daughter’s home.
She married Richard Blocker July 5, 1947. They were married 57 years at the time of his passing in 2003. She was a lifelong member of South Point Church of Christ in Hampshire and also worshipped at Eastside Church of Christ which became South Gate Church of Christ.
She was employed by Dixie Manufacturing Company, Storktown (Weather-Tamer), and later General Electric. Her joy came from taking care of others, both old and young. Family was her priority, and she was affectionately known as “Mama Faye” by everyone who knew her.
She loved God and the church and as long as she was able, she would be found at South Point Church Sunday morning and night and Wednesdays at East Side (South Gate) Church of Christ. She brought many children to church and one of her last requests was to remind each of them of this.
