Tim attended Southern Illinois University after High School to become a dental lab technician. He then worked for his father, Dr. James Blackwell. Tim had a deep love for horses and spent many days barrel racing at horse shows. He was the happiest in nature and on the farm, enjoying time with the horses, cows, and his dogs. Tim was an avid reader and had a strong faith, devoted to studying his bible.

In addition to his parents, Tim is preceded in death by his sister Kitty Halfacre and nephew Jim Craig.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Taylor (Issac) Oberstag, grandchildren, Elijah and Amelia of Burns, Tennessee, sister Linda Coffee of Atlanta, sister Yvonne Craig of Mountain Hope, Arkansas, nephews Colin, Chad and niece Megan.
