Blackburn, Beckie Jean
Beckie Jean Blackburn, age 59, wife of Thomas “Tab” Blackburn, and a resident of Summertown, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at Southern Tennessee Regional Health System in Lawrenceburg.
A funeral service was held on Monday, August 15, 2022, at Heritage Funeral Home with James Lunsford officiating. Burial followed in Freedom Cemetery in Summertown. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on November 22, 1962, in Enterprise, Alabama, Beckie was the daughter of Mary Hulon Johnson and the late Billy Johnson. She married Tab Blackburn on June 3, 1984, but they were together for a total of forty-two years. Beckie enjoyed gardening and tending to her flower beds. She had a special love for her goats, chickens, and beloved dog, Izzy. Above all, Becky loved spending time with her family, especially her great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by her son, Josh Bagwell of Summertown; sisters, Jennifer (Thomas) Alvarado of Geneva, Alabama, Virginia “Bug” Hawthorn (Bobby Gillespie) of Ozark, Alabama; brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Barbara Blackburn of Santa Fe; and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Along with her father, she was preceded in death by her sisters-in-law, Vickie Blackburn and Joy Millage.
Pallbearers were Kenny Davis, Tony Wren, Jerry LaRue, Tyler Hernandez, Brennon Johnson, and Randall Johnson. Honorary pallbearers included Danny “Dink” Shaffer, Eddie Lee Hinson, Robert Stokes, and Howard Harvill.
