Bishop, Margaret Sue
Margaret Sue Bishop, a woman loved by all who knew her, passed away after a lengthy struggle with dementia, on July 16, 2025, at the age of 83 in Linden, Tennessee. Born on December 10, 1941, in Arvin, California, Margaret’s life was one of devotion to her family and a passion for experiencing the nature that surrounded their home in the country in Tennessee, and in the other states and countries in which she was privileged to travel.
Margaret was the cherished daughter of the late Sue Willis, who instilled in her the values of compassion and generosity that would define her life. Her journey of love began with Alan R. Bishop, to whom she was a devoted wife for 56 years. Together, they built a family rooted in care and mutual respect, raising their children, Randal A. Bishop, with his wife Rachel, parents of Randal, Jr. and Sawyer, and Rochelle M. Bishop, mother of Alex and Emilio, to mirror the same warmth and affection that Margaret naturally exuded.
Margaret’s love for the outdoors was evident to all who knew her. She found solace and joy in her daily walks, where she would often be found admiring the beauty of nature, whether it was in the wind blowing through leaves of a tree, the call of the wood thrush or the wildflowers blooming beside the path. Her appreciation for the natural world was only matched by her desire to educate her children in preparation for life in the world in which we live.
