Chester Arthur Beckett, better known as “Chet”, died Wednesday [18 February 2004] at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia. He was 65. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, February 20, 2004, at 1:00 PM, in the McDonald Funeral Home Chapel. Sam Livingston, Pastor of Highland Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial is to follow in the Downey Cemetery. Survivors include his wife Cherry L. Brown Beckett, three daughters Vickie Whitwell and Jessica Bain of Hohenwald, and Melissa Clayton of Hopkinsville, KY. Also two brothers Robert Beckett of Elyria, OH, and Daniel Beckett of Brunswick, OH. Eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. Mr. Beckett was born April 14, 1938 in Cleveland, Ohio. His parents were the late Daniel Vale and Vera Elizabeth Roose Beckett. He was a retired Air Traffic Controller for the Federal Aviation Agency. He served in the United States Air Force.
