Daisy Marie (Powers) Beard, a beloved wife, and mother, to Vicky Renea (Beard) Tuten (Sam), and Richard Tracy Beard (Angie), grandmother to Tabitha Colette (Beard) Cude (Gaylon), and Miranda Lauren (Beard) Morris (Ryan), great-grandmother to Sutherlyn Grace Cude, Brooks Marlin Cude, Lyla Palmer Morris and Emmy Reagan Morris, sister and friend passed away on March 27, 2025 at the age of 84. Born in Hickman Co., TN on July 14, 1940. Miss Daisy, as everyone so lovingly referred to her was spunky, silly, kind, generous, a wonderful friend and grandmother.

Although Daisy’s life was filled with hard work, she always found time to enjoy every minute she could with her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her love of sports led her to coach girls’ softball in Centerville. That love grew into a joy of watching her grandchildren play their sports, soccer, basketball, softball, and golf. There was always “a seat in the car for Grannu.”
You could always find her taking walks around town, on her front porch with her flowers, at high school basketball games, at church, and at Homestead. In earlier years, she was active with the Impact Center and Special Olympics.

She loved to travel and often took bus trips to places such as Branson MO and Asheville, NC. Her spunk was never more evident as her first airplane flight was a trip to Hawaii.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, two grandchildren and their spouses, four great grandchildren, her beloved sister Hattie Mayberry with whom she shared the last five years of her life they were rarely separated, four additional brothers and sisters, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Marlin Washington Beard, her parents Gracie (Berryman) Powers and James “Shortie” Powers, eight brothers and sisters, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be 31 march 2025 from 10:00AM – 1:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County.  Funeral Services will begin at 1;00 PM with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Centerville, TN.
