Barbara Louise Beard was born on October 24, 1936, in Dickson, Tennessee, and passed away on June 28, 2022, in Centerville, Tennessee. She was 85 years 8 months and 4 days old.

She is the daughter of the late Clyde and Louise Smiley Beard.

She was also preceded in death by her siblings Betty Pearl Brown, and Randolph (Janice) Beard.

She is survived by her daughter Dorinda Beard of Alpharetta, Georgia. Granddaughter Karen (Jason) Deas of Georgia. Great Grandchildren Sammie and Jackson. Siblings Edgar (Barbara) Beard, Jacqueline (Robert) Spelta of Nashville, Rita Beard of Nunnelly, and Marilyn (Ricky) Mathis of Centerville. Along with many other relatives, friends, and loved ones.

Ms. Beard loved God and was a founding member of the Fairfield Church of Christ. Before attending Fairfield she was a member of the Bells Branch Church of Christ. She would often visit the sick in her church family.

Barbara has lived on Bells Branch her entire life. Growing up she helped on the farm, and being the oldest of her siblings helped with them as well. She graduated from Hickman County High School in 1955. For many years she worked at Genesco in Centerville. Upon their closure, she began working at Universal Fasteners in Centerville.

She loved gardening, crocheting, quilting, and cooking, her banana pudding was especially good. Her family meant the world to her, and she loved all her brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. Her sister Rita was extra special in taking care of her in these last couple of years she was able to live at home. Her grandchildren were the love of her life. She adored Karen, Sammie, and Jackson. She is going to be deeply missed by all those she knew and loved.

Visitation with the family will be July 2, 2022 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County.  Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 AM at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman.  Mickey Mathis will officiate services.  Burial will follow at Oakmont Cemetery, Centerville, TN.
