Pauline Josephine Hensley Bates, age 82, of Hohenwald, died Saturday, December 27, 2003, at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville.  Mrs. Bates was born December 12, 1921 in Camden, TN. Her parents were the late Robert L. and Ruhama Webb Hensley. She was the widow of Jason C. Bates.

She is also preceded in death by a son Jason Clifford Bates, II. She was an employee of Genesco.

Survivors include three sons, Danny, Stephen and Clark Bates all of Hohenwald. Also nine daughters, Ruhama Sisco, Angela Floyd, Lynda Mercer, Janice Willis, Helen Bates, Judy Schwendimann and Donna Couch all of Hohenwald. Barbara Meredith of Centerville and Jill Hunt of Lyles.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, December 29, 2003, at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Glen Floyd and Don Meredith will officiate. Burial will follow in the Edwards Cemetery.
