Bates, Lynch, Sisco, Black – Family Pictures

The couple sitting with the three children are Samuel Torrence Bates & Josephine Vivine Lynch Bates. The children are their three older ones – Lula (Joe Sebja), Ollye (Ralph Brown), Erlene (Nollie Plummer) My dad and a couple others weren’t born at this time. The picture was probably made around 1908. They came into Lewis County from the Farmers Exchange – Beaverdam areas of Hickman Co.
The couple in the buggy are Edgar Black and Jettie Mae Sisco Black. They were from the Swan Creek area of Lewis County. These are my mother’s mom and dad. This picture was made in 1909.
This is a picture of Josephine Vivine Lynch Bates’ mother, Susan Angeline Harber Lynch holding me, Sammye Jo Bates Lawson. Her husband was Samuel Lynch. She was born during the Civil War. This picture was made around 1945-46.
