Bates, Johnathan Leon

He grew up in the Vine Street community, playing kickball, baseball, and football. The friends that were always around would be too numerous to try to name. One thing can always be said, when Johnathan was around you were sure to have a good time. His love for football brought him to serve as a manager, alongside his good friend Kevin Lay, for the Lewis County High School Panthers. His love for football continued as he was a proud Alabama fan.
He began his working career in the family mowing business. He then began working at E.W. James grocery store until they closed and went to work for Morrows Food town. After graduating from Lewis County High School in 2007, he enrolled in the Practical Nursing Program at TCAT in Hohenwald. After finishing the program and getting his license, he began to faithfully serve families at Lewis County Nursing and Rehab. While working there, he met the love of his life, the former Leanna Colleene Schultz. They were united in marriage April 16,2010. Later he worked in the Emergency Department at St. Thomas Hickman Hospital, and then finished his nursing career working from home. Most recently he had found his passion again, working for Modine Manufacturing in Lawrenceburg.
In his spare time, he enjoyed detailing vehicles and spending time with his family. He attended church at Grinders Creek Church of Christ in Hohenwald.
He is survived by his loving wife Leanna Colleene Schultz Bates and their two children Gavin and Harper. His parents Kenneth and Vickie Lawson Bates, all of Hohenwald.
