Jerry Clifton Bates was born on October 13, 1941 and passed away on September 30, 2022 at the age of 80.

He is the son of the late Bufford Lee Bates and Izora Ora Rosson Bates.

He is also preceded in death by his wife, Louella Bates, and brother, Nathaniel Bates.

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Bates, son, Jeffrey Bates, sisters,  Ann White and Joyce (Harry) Filder, brother, Kenneth (Pam) Bates, grandchildren, Terry (Alicia) Brake, and Billy Bates, great-grandchild, Brayden Brake. 

Visitation with the family will be 4 October 2022 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM and 5 October 2022 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County.  Funeral Services will be 6 October 2022 at 1:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Centerville, TN.
