Bass, Jimmy Dee
Jimmy Dee Bass was born on April 12, 1945, in the Twomey Community in Hickman County and passed away on May 3, 2019, at his home in Centerville. He is the son of the late Hubert Bass and Illa Mae Bates Bass.
He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Tom Bass, Charles Bass, and Edward Bass & Sisters, Dolly O’Guin and Mildred Bass.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 48 years, Sharon Elaine Dorton Bass. His sons, Scottie Dee Bass and his wife Rhonda of Hohenwald and Brandon Dorton Bass and his wife Kayla of Lyles. 6 Grandchildren: Bethaney Delaine Bass, Hayden Scott Bass, Lennox Makinley Bass, Lydia Grace Bass, Lauchlan Blake Bass, and Landree Paige Bass. Sister, Lucille Shepard of Fairview. Brother, Edgar Bass of Centerville as well as a whole host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and loved ones.
Mr. Bass was a member of the First Baptist Church in Centerville for 25 years. He was currently serving the congregation as a deacon. While working Jimmy was employed by the Tennessee Department of Transportation. He loved wrestling and racing. His most recent favorite driver was Martin Truex, Jr. He also loved old country music and Nat King Cole. Mostly though, he loved God and loved his family.
Visitation with the family will be held on 5 May 2019, from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County. Funeral Services will be held on 6 May 2019 at 11:00 AM at McDonald Funeral Home – Hickman County. Burial will follow in the Salem Cemetery, Hohenwald, TN.
