Carolyn Elizabeth Barber of 36 Walnut Circle, Hohenwald, died June 19, 2002 at Maury regional Hospital. She was 83. Funeral Service was held Saturday, June 22 at 11:00 a.m. at Blondy Church of God. Officiating at the service were Jack Tharp, pastor of Napier Pentecostal Church, David Jackson, pastor of First Pentecostal Church, Bill Webb, pastor of Blondy Church of God, Roy Barber and Darrell Barber. A native of Lewis County, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Maude Poore Brown. She was born September 5, 1918. Mrs. Barber was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar R. Barber, and daughter, Betty Sue Barber. Survivors include three sons, Bobby Barber of Parsons; Donald Barber and Douglas Barber of Hohenwald; two daughters, Laquita Carroll and Kathy Sharp of Hohenwald; three brothers, Harold Brown of Springville, Ernest Brown of Tampa, Florida, and Joe Will Brown of Summerville, South Carolina; two half-brother, James Brown of Atlanta, Georgia, and Dale Brown of Hohenwald; four half-sisters, Betty James of McEwen, Nina Mathis of Waynesboro, Ruth Scott and Martha Hensley of Hohenwald; 25 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
