Roger Dale Banks was born on May 9, 1947, in Columbia, Tennessee, to the late George Edison and Lillian James Banks. He entered eternal rest on July 12, 2025, in Lyles, Tennessee, at the age of 78.

In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Banks.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Sue Myatt Banks; sons, Bryan (Nicole) Banks and Norman “Doc” (Joyce) Banks; brother, Ricky (Debbie) Banks; sister, Jean Chandler; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and cherished friends.

Roger loved the Lord and his family with all his heart. A faithful minister of the gospel for many years, he served his community and congregation with unwavering dedication. His gentle spirit, strong faith, and deep love for others will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Visitation with the family will be 14 July 2025 from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM at McDonald Funeral HOme – Hickman County with Funeral Services to begin at 2:00 PM.  Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Centerville, TN.

He will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, service, and faith will live on in the hearts of many.
